Paul Murray Catalysis Consulting is a small company dedicated to helping chemists to save money and resources by identifying more efficient chemical processes. We provide expertise and training in design of experiments, principal component analysis and process development, and their application in solvent and ligand screening, catalysis and quality by design.

 Paul has worked in process development chemistry for 26 years and founded PMCC in 2014 to bring his expertise to help companies and individuals. Paul has been involved in pioneering research and advisory work, has a very strong network of collaborators and is prepared to work to the client’s requirements to meet the project needs.

In 26 years of process chemistry, Paul has taken many reactions to processes, learning tricks, tips and developed a chemical ‘intuition’ along the way. With an understanding of chemical engineering (without being an engineer), Paul can highlight potential pitfalls, knows what to look for and can spot patterns in the chemistry and processes. When working on your process, Paul will assess what’s different, what’s the same, what should be working but isn’t and then use his broad understanding and varied chemical toolkit to help solve the problem.

Laura joined PMCC in 2016 as a consultant, with a PhD from the University of Bristol and experience working as an organic research chemist at PhosphonicS. Laura helps with training courses and DoE consultancy projects. Her skills lie in communication; writing presentations, reports and explaining difficult concepts in a concise way. 

Liane joined PMCC in 2020 as an administrative assistant. She is in charge of bookkeeping, invoicing and keeping things organised!
